Story: Set on the backdrop of a college, the story begins with Sriman Narayana (Balayya) who is a lecturer and he is a fearless, handsome and honest man fighting injustice wherever he is. The students also fear him. The story takes a turn with the arrival of the new student Janaki (Sneha Ullal) and Sriman Narayana helps her escape from the villain (Aditya). Romance blossoms between both but then Narayana has a story which his grandmother (KR Vijaya) reveals and this has a link with Janaki as well. What is that past and what happens from there forms the rest of the story. Artist performances: Nandamuri Balakrishna is back in action and that too with a bang, his dialogues, his dances, his action sequences will pump up the blood levels. He has worked hard in the stunts and dance department. Sneha Ullal looks sweet and gels well with the story, Nayantara looks elegant and she has given a decent performance, Namitha was plump as usual and she was brief, K R Vijaya was gracious, Sai Kumar was okay, Aditya was good, Kota made his presence felt, the comedy team comprising of Brahmi, Krishna Bhagawan, Ali, Dharmavarapu, Jhansi were not utilized to their potential. Venu Madhav scored few points, Rehman looks handsome as usual, Sana was neat, the others didn't have much to offer. Plus points: * Balakrishna * Dialogues * Songs * Nayantara and Sneha Ullal * Second half * Action sequences * Production values Minus points: * weak comedy Analysis: The film is a pure mass oriented movie and while the first half goes about with a college backdrop, the entire momentum changes in the second half. To all those who wanted to see the fiery eyed Balakrishna, this will be a major treat. The storyline is predictable and the plot is weak but the execution was nice. Background score was good and songs were the highlight. Editing was alright, art department was grand, overall, the film will go well with the masses and will ensure huge profits to the makers. A must watch for all people who love powerful mass entertainers. This film will be a milestone in Balakrishna's career. Verdict: Watch it to know how a Simham Roars! |
